Kemal A. ŠARIĆ
KEMAL ŠARIĆ, son of ALIJA, born on November 6, 1921, in Mostar, worker, joined the Battalion in November 1941. Surivivor of the Battle and the subsequent breakthrough at Sutjeska, returning exhausted to Mostar for recovery with other 80 fighters. He died near Konjic in November 1943.
“With 40 fighters, during the night of November 2/3, we carried out a raid on Konjic, and on that occasion, divided into two groups, we penetrated the city center. Several comrades did not have rifles. We stormed the police station and the municipal administration, seizing 7 rifles and several hundred rifle rounds. One group, heading towards the railway station, carelessly encountered an armored train, resulting in the death of HIVZIJA BEGOVIĆ LAPINA, a worker from Mostar, and 5 comrades were wounded, including Rajko Šarić, a peasant from Borak, and Kemal Šarić, a worker from Mostar, who were seriously injured. Both severely wounded comrades died on their way to the clinic.”
