Many young men, and sometimes young women, were recruited into the ranks of the Yugoslav Army in 1945, especially in February after the liberation of Mostar. Over 50 of them lost their lives during the final operations on various battlefields from Ivan-Sedlo to Slovenia. Many of them had only been in military service for a few months before they perished.
