Husnija M. REBAC
HUSNIJA REBAC, son of MUHAMED, born on October 7, 1918, in Mostar. Member of the League of Communist Youth (SKOJ) since 1939 and Communist Party of Yugoslavia (KPJ) since 1941. From February 1942, he was a member of the Local Committee and Regional Committee of KPJ for Mostar. Arrested by the Italians on May 19, 1942, and executed on June 13, 1942, as a retaliation for sabotage – a fire at the Tobacco Factory in Mostar, which resulted in the complete destruction of a large warehouse building. On that occasion, Savo Delić, Šefkija Pašić, and Jovan Žerajić were also shot. The other detainees were taken to prisons or camps in Dalmatia, while four prominent activists, Dr. Zvonko Marić, Vinko Džidić, Tripo Uljarević, and Borivoje Zurovac, were immediately executed upon their arrival in Herceg-Novi at Kameno.
A street in Mostar is named after Husnija Rebac.
