Jusuf J. MALKOČ
JUSUF MALKOČ, son of JUSUF, born in 1906* in Mostar, a shoemaker. He worked as a guard at the Tobacco Factory. He supported the National Liberation War and became a member of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia (KPJ) in 1943.
He was arrested during a major raid in Mostar in July 1943, as one captured denounced familiar individuals in a group of over a thousand lined-up residents of Mostar. The Germans separated those identified and took them to the court prison for interrogation and identification, while the others were released to their homes. After the interrogation, Jusuf was executed in Ovojci along with a group of partisans and underground activists.
