Mara R. ANDRIĆ
MARA R. ANDRIĆ, born in 1924 in the village of Pijesci (Mostar). She was a political delegate of the squad in the 1st Battalion (2nd squad, 3rd platoon). She served as a nurse. She distinguished herself with bravery in numerous battles. She was killed in the fight for the liberation of Konjic in March 1945. According to the accounts of surviving comrades, “Comrade Mara Andrić was wounded in one of the final charges and died in the hospital in liberated Konjic after about ten days. She always led the squad in every charge.” She was described as “very popular,” and her loss was deeply felt by everyone.
