ŠEFKIJA ŠEFIK BOŠNJIĆ, son of ALIJA, born on September 12, 1914, in Mostar, a locksmith and a pre-war activist of the workers’ movement. Member of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia (KPJ) since 1941, and joined the Battalion in March 1943. He had to hastily leave Mostar due to police suspicion of his involvement in the assassination of policeman Mujo Trbonja (the assassination was carried out by a member of the Communist Youth League (SKOJ), Petar Pero Krajina, as Trbonja was accused of killing SKOJ member Salko Šestić, and Šefik was suspected because his bicycle was used in the operation).
