Nikola M. OBULJEN
NIKOLA IVAN BLAŽ, ZORAN OBULJEN, son of MIJO, born on January 27, 1896, in Mostar. He completed pilot school in 1921 and night flying school in 1935. He was a Lieutenant Colonel of the Royal Yugoslav Air Force and a Colonel of the Air Force of the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) in Mostar and Zagreb. He was an activist of the National Liberation Movement (NOP) and a member of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia (KPJ) since 1943. He was a collaborator of the intelligence service and Ivan Stevo Krajačić had several discussions with him regarding the transfer of planes to the USSR. He was arrested by the Ustaše in June 1944 in Zagreb while serving as the Deputy Commander of the NDH Military Air Force. Due to his collaboration with the NOP, he was arrested and subjected to brutal torture. He was killed on December 23, 1944, in Zagreb.
