Milan V. IVETIĆ
MILAN IVETIĆ LONGA, son of VASA, born on November 5, 1909*, in Mostar, a cooper by profession, pre-war activist of the workers’ movement, and a player for “Velež” football club. Joined the Battalion in early 1942, as a fighter, and was killed during a Chetnik coup, in an attack on the school in Bijela near Konjic in June 1942.
As per recollections of Enver Ćemalović: “Towards evening, while the Chetniks were having dinner, their small groups remained to control the school. At dusk, two hand grenades were thrown from the exits on the upper floor and ground floor of the school, and then a breakthrough assault started from the building. The Chetnik security, joined by the Chetniks who were having dinner, opened gunfire at our comrades. On that occasion, they killed: ŠEFKO DUGALIĆ, a worker from Mostar, MILAN IVETIĆ LONGA, a worker from Mostar… MONTILJA, … from Sarajevo, STJEPAN ŠULENTIĆ, a lawyer from Mostar, AVDO VAJZOVIĆ, a worker from Konjic, and MEHMED ZALIHIĆ, a worker from Mostar.”
