Milan G. MATKOVIĆ
MILAN MATKOVIĆ, son of GOJKO; born on March 8, 1923, in Malo Polje near Mostar. Farmer. Member of the League of Communist Youth (SKOJ) since 1943. Joined the the National Liberation Army and Partisan Detachments in April 1944 in the “Savo Belović” Detachment. Distinguished fighter, platoon leader in the 1st Company of the Third Battalion. He was killed in the battle for the liberation of Postojna on May 2, 1945. He is remembered as a “strong lad and a hero from Malo Polje near Mostar.”
