Leon A. LEVI
LEON LEVI, son of ALBERT, born on May 1, 1922, in Sarajevo, a locksmith, lived and worked in Mostar. He joined the Battalion in December 1941, became a member of the League of Communist Youth (SKOJ) in 1942, and served as a fighter and a delegate of his unit. He was killed during the Fifth Enemy Offensive at Sutjeska.
In 1999, a Holocaust memorial was erected at the Jewish Cemetery in Mostar, which also bears Leon’s name.
