ESAD (AHMEDA) MEHIĆ LOGARA, born on May 24, 1927* in Mostar. Carriage maker. Member of SKOJ. Joined the NOV and POJ in the summer of 1944 in the 13th Hercegovina Brigade. Fighter, killed on April 24, 1945, near Bihać.
The battle in which Esad was killed is recorded as follows:
“On that day, the 14th Brigade, after relieving the 13th Brigade in its sector of the front, remained in positions to secure the passage of other units. However, it happened that the enemy began to withdraw simultaneously. The Brigade took advantage of this by exerting pressure with its weaker units to liberate Ostrožac. In the battles fought by the Division from April 18 to 22, mostly in the Bihać field, 9 fighters and non-commissioned officers were killed, and around twenty were wounded. The killed fighters were: Husein (Huso) Hamzić from Pješivci near Stolac, Esad Mehić from Mostar, and Milorad Mičić from Mostar, all three from the 13th Brigade; Lazar (Lazo) Lozo from Kute Livče near Mostar, Alija Marić from Dobriče near Mostar, and Mehmed Omanović from Kute Livče near Mostar, all three from the 14th Brigade (…)”
