Džemal O. DRAGNIĆ
DŽEMAL DRAGNIĆ, son of OMER, born on April 5, 1920, in Mostar, surveyor, member of the League of Communist Youth (SKOJ) since 1939 and Communist Party of Yugoslavia (KPJ) since 1940, secretary of the SKOJ unit in Mostar. Joined the Battalion in September 1941, fighter, killed in Blaca near Konjic in October 1941.
EXCERPT FROM LITERATURE:
“Occasionally, groups of fighters were sent to the Blaca area to prepare for the formation of a unit. One of our groups clashed with a patrol of the Ustasha militia, and during that encounter, Džemal Dragnić, a surveyor from Mostar and a pre-war member of KPJ, was killed. He was one of the organizers of the participation of the youth from Donja Mahala in pre-war demonstrations…”
