Anđelko Đ. DAKIĆ
ANĐELKO DAKIĆ KITOLA, son of ĐORĐE, born in Pridvorci near Nevesinje on October 15, 1919.* Resided and worked in Mostar. Sheet metal worker. Pre-war member of the League of Communist Youth (SKOJ). He belonged to the “progressive youth” movement and was a very active young activist. He played football for “Velež,” and when “Velež” was banned before the war, he transferred to “Jedinstvo.” Arrested by the Ustashe on August 2, 1941, sent to Gospić and killed most likely in the camp Jadovno.
Svetislav Mandić (Mostar, 08.03.1921 – Belgrade, 04.10.2003), a painter, conservator, fresco copyist, and poet from Mostar and Belgrade, dedicated his poem “Onaj sudnji dan” (That Judgement Day) to his friends who were killed and fallen during their school days. The poem also contains verses referring to Anđelko.
