Esad M. HUMO
ESAD HUMO, son of MUHAMED, born on May 20, 1924, in Mostar. He was a student at the Gymnasium. He was a member of the local committee of the Communist Youth League (SKOJ), which during the war years, through its work, along with the Technical Committee, engaged the youth in neighborhoods to ensure security, supplies, and evacuation from the city with the help of young people, including pioneers. He joined the National Liberation Army and Partisan Detachments in the summer of 1944, serving in the 2nd Battalion of the 13th Herzegovina Brigade. He was a fighter and served as the assistant political commissar of the 1st Platoon of the 2nd Battalion. He was killed on February 8, 1945, in Hodbina.
According to the archives of Radmilo Braca Andrić, the remains of Esad Humo were transferred and buried in the Partisan Memorial Cemetery in Mostar.
Esad’s name was recorded on the memorial plaque at Mostar Gymnasium after the war. The plaque disappeared without a trace during the events of the war from 1992 to 1995.
