Samija M. FEJIĆ-KRAJINA
SAMIJA FEJIĆ-KRAJINA, born in 1909 in Mostar, the daughter of MUHAMED Fejić and ADILA née Opijač, a mother of two children, a homemaker. Arrested after her husband Mehmed Fadil joined the partisans, she was taken to the Jasenovac camp (“sent for a period of 1 year based on the proposal of the ŽRO in Sarajevo”) and killed in 1944.
Four of Samija’s brothers died in the National Liberation War (Džemal, Ešref, Šefko, and Esad Fejić), and two uncles were killed by the Germans (one of them being dr Asim Opijač). One of the most famous streets in Mostar is named after the Fejić brothers. The well-known song “Mostarska mati” by Mostarske kiše is dedicated to Samija’s mother, Adila Fejić. Samija left behind two daughters, Ita and Vesna. Vesna became an actress and was married to actor Ljubo Tadić.
