Mehmed M. BAŠAGIĆ
MEHMED MEHO BAŠAGIĆ, son of MEHMED, born on October 20, 1922, in Nevesinje. He was a student at the Sharia Gymnasium in Sarajevo and the Gymnasium in Mostar. A pre-war member of the League of Communist Youth (SKOJ). He joined the People’s Liberation War at the beginning of 1942 in the “Bišina” detachment. As a fighter, he was captured by Chetniks in May 1942 near Nevesinje and handed over to the Italians. He was taken to Mostar and executed.
Brother of fallen fighters Hajrija Bašagić and Muhidin Bašagić.
