The circumstances of his death were recorded during the German pursuit through the Bosna Valley, in battles from April 4 to 8, from Ivan-Sedlo to Kiseljak. The front line stretched over 40 km, and the final battles lasted for 108 hours, in almost continuous clashes. During that time, the division had a total of 126 killed, 325 wounded, and 3 missing.
