Joined the People’s Liberation Army in November 1943, serving as a machine gunner in the Battalion. A fighter who died by drowning in February 1944 in Ka\u0161i\u0107i near Konjic during a Chetnik attack on the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Under the pressure of Chetnik gunfire, company commissar Alija Deli\u0107 withdraws with the water from Ko\u0161uta and crosses the Neretva River on a raft, reaching the village of Ka\u0161i\u0107i. While crossing the Neretva, machine gunner Ahmet Spu\u017ei\u0107, a student from Mostar, slipped and drowned in the river. From all our nations and religions: Muslims, Croats, Serbs, Jews, Orthodox Christians, Catholics, Muslims, Jews, atheists, and semi-atheists.
