SLOVINI\u0106\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- wp:themify-builder\/canvas \/-->\n\n\n<p>Dr. VJEKOSLAV SLOVINI\u0106, son of NIKO, born on January 11, 1903*, in Postira on the island of Bra\u010d. He lived and worked as a doctor at the Health Center in Mostar, heading the dermatology and venereology department. He actively collaborated with the National Liberation Movement (NOP). He was among the doctors who lectured on health courses and trained hospital attendants. In addition to theoretical training, course participants also had practical training in hospital departments for a month. This way, every course participant was trained in wound dressing, which later proved to be a valuable skill in the Battalion. Furthermore, along with other doctors, he provided supplies to the underground resistance through medical couriers with sanitary materials, instruments, and medications. He was arrested by the Ustasha at the end of 1944 or the beginning of 1945 and deported to the Jasenovac concentration camp, where he was killed in January 1945.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Vjekoslav Slovini\u0107 was the author of the article &#8220;The Plague in Bra\u010d in 1784,&#8221; published in 1940 in the first issue of the &#8220;Bra\u010d Yearbook&#8221; monograph.
