IVANKA IVES SAMARD\u017dI\u0106, daughter of VLADIMIR, born in Mostar on January 25, 1925. Completed the eighth grade of the Gymnasium in Sarajevo. Member of the League of Communist Youth (SKOJ) since 1943. Worked with Jev\u0111evi\u0107, Strahinja \u0160imi\u0161i\u0107, and Mirko Kravi\u0107. Arrested by the Usta\u0161e on March 24, 1945, and hanged on March 27\u201328 during mass execution at Marindvor (Marijin dvor) in Sarajevo. According to sources, \u201cshe conducted herself with dignity at the trial. One of the greatest atrocities against the people of Mostar by the Ustasha occurred towards the end of the war. Despite retreating, the Ustasha arrested a number of activists and sympathizers from Mostar and took them to Sarajevo. Some were killed together with the citizens of Sarajevo, while others were taken to Jasenovac and executed there. From the biographies of the victims, it is evident that it was not always possible to determine who perished at which location. According to the above article, the victims had already been killed when the announcement was printed.<\/div>\r\n
