One of the greatest atrocities against the people of Mostar by the Ustasha occurred towards the end of the war. Despite retreating, the Ustasha arrested a number of activists and sympathizers from Mostar and took them to Sarajevo. Some were killed together with the citizens of Sarajevo, while others were taken to Jasenovac and executed there. From the biographies of the victims, it is evident that it was not always possible to determine who perished at which location.
