RADOSLAV RADE MAJSTOROVI\u0106, son of MILAN, born on March 4, 1912*. He was born in Mrkonji\u0107 Grad*. He was a machine fitter at the Coal Mine in Mostar. He became a member of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia (KPJ) in 1939 and was part of the group of pre-war communists. He was arrested in early September 1940 due to a protest general strike in Mostar involving over 2,000 workers, all companies, craft workshops, and the Coal Mine. The strike was organized following demonstrations held on the anniversary of the German attack on Poland (September 1, 1939). Subsequently, the arrest of communists followed. In the first group, the following were arrested: Im\u0161ir Gigi\u0107<\/a>, Mustafa Bjelavac<\/a>, Rade Bitanga<\/a>, Mustafa Alajbegovi\u0107, Smajo Brki\u0107, Hasan Kre\u0161o<\/a>, Slavko Bala\u0107<\/a>, Luka Kne\u017ei\u0107<\/a>. In the second group, the following were arrested: Mustafa Humo<\/a>, Velija Hujdur<\/a>, Vasilije To\u0161i\u0107<\/a>, Mile \u0106e\u0107ez<\/a>, Ljubo Ajvaz<\/a>, Rade Majstorovi\u0107, and Rudolf Hrozni\u010dek<\/a>. He was taken to the prison of Lepoglava. He was handed over to the Ustashe in April 1941 and taken to the Gospi\u0107 concentration camp, where he was killed in the same year, in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 1,024 individuals were killed, with 649 in the city itself and 331 in surrounding villages. Besides direct killings \"at the doorstep,\" the most common fate was transportation and liquidation in Ustasha camps throughout the Independent State of Croatia. The highest number of casualties occurred in the complex of Ustasha camps in Gospi\u0107-Jadovno-Pag and in Jasenovac.
