\u0110OR\u0110E KUJI\u0106*, son of LUKA VUKAN, born in Mostar on September 20, 1929, a student at the Gymnasium. He joined the National Liberation Army and Partisans’ Detachments of Yugoslavia on February 14, 1945, in the 1st Battalion of the 1st Dalmatian Brigade. A fighter. He was killed during the final operations of the Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA) in Istria, in Klana near Rijeka in 1945.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As remembered by his childhood friend Alija Bijavica: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“\u0110oka was the “cool guy”. He bound us with his sense of gathering and honest fellowship. We were members of the scout organization – “vu\u010di\u0107i”, which came about under the strong influence of SKOJ and the Party. He also impressed by the fact that he had a complete uniform, which many of us could not afford. \u0110oka was his mother’s favorite and showered with incredible attention from those around him. As if there wouldn’t be time for that later… Somehow in May 1945, in Tolmin, in the days of unprecedented joy – the war was over – I found out about \u0110oka’s death. (\u2026)\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The name of \u0110or\u0111e Kuji\u0107 was recorded on a memorial plaque<\/a> at Mostar Gymnasium after the war.
