MUHAMED HAD\u017dIOMEROVI\u0106 SIPA, son of MAHMUT, born on October 28, 1919* in Mostar, student, member of the League of Communist Youth (SKOJ) since 1938 and Communist Party of Yugoslavia (KPJ) since 1941, football player for FC “Vele\u017e”. One of the “senior” comrades who held weekly lectures for the League of Communist Youth (SKOJ) members on current topics. In the Battalion since early 1942, fighter, executed in Drami\u0161evo near Nevesinje on June 4, 1942, by the Chetniks. The bodies of the killed were thrown into a lime kiln.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Circumstances of Muhamed’s death during the Chetnik coup:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“In the afternoon, around 4 p.m., Jovan Glogovac arrives in the village of Kru\u0161evljane, where he tells the story of the killings of many Communists and Montenegrins in Drami\u0161evo and Zaborani, as well as the disarming of 12 fighters from Mostar who are held in the basement of his house. He offers to have the commander of the gendarmerie barracks send ten men to take custody of the prisoners and hand them over to the Italians in Nevesinje. Since the locals rejected this proposal, Jovan returned to Drami\u0161evo. Upon Jovan’s return to the village, a Chetnik council was convened under the leadership of Novica Glogovac, which decided to execute the disarmed fighters. Under the cover of darkness, the Chetniks bring out the prisoners, take them to the outskirts of the village, and execute them: IBRAHIM ALIKALFI\u0106 DUJA<\/a>, a worker, MUHAMED HAD\u017dIOMEROVI\u0106 SIPA<\/a>, a student, OMER KLJAKO<\/a>, a worker, BRANKO KOSJERINA<\/a>, a clerk, MUSTAFA KRE\u0160O<\/a>, a worker, SALEM SKIKI\u0106<\/a>, a worker, TOMO STIPI\u0106, a worker, HIDAJET \u0160ARI\u0106 HIDO<\/a>, a student, and SALKO \u0160EHOVI\u0106<\/a>, a gardener.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Muhamed’s name was recorded on a memorial plaque<\/a> at the Mostar Gymnasium after the war. Those of us who were 17, 18 years old, some seemed old even though they were not older than 25. The ones over 30 were rare. There were girls and boys with different characteristics and temperaments, robust and calm, talkative and silent, recklessly brave and rational, ordinary and above-average, semi-literate and university-educated, workers and highly skilled craftsmen, high school students and university students, skilled singers and those who couldn't carry a tune, jokers and serious-minded individuals. From all our nations and religions: Muslims, Croats, Serbs, Jews, Orthodox Christians, Catholics, Muslims, Jews, atheists, and semi-atheists. Some were from straight from Mostar and others from the surrounding locations, from Konjic and outside Konjic.\" (Hercegovina Magazine No. 7, p. 238)\r\n\r\nGroups of new fighters arrived from Mostar every 10-15 days, and the Unit quickly grew into a solid military force. The guides for the groups from Mostar were Mehmed Arap, Vasa Maslo, Serif Buri\u0107, Husa Orman, Vojo Ivani\u0161evi\u0107, and Pero Krajina, who were among the bravest and most resourceful fighters. The groups regularly brought not only weapons but also medical supplies, sugar for the hospital, writing materials, large quantities of paper, books taken from the National Library (which formed the library at Borci), and other supplies for the needs of the Unit.
