MUSTAFA MUJO GLAVOVI\u0106, son of SULEJMAN, born on August 2, 1905, a merchant. Activist of the National Liberation War. Arrested by the Ustasha on February 12, 1945, two days before the liberation of Mostar, and taken to Sarajevo. He was killed in Ustasha reprisals shortly before their withdrawal from Sarajevo, in the final days of the war in 1945.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a failed assassination attempt on Maks Luburi\u0107 in Sarajevo in early March 1945, Luburi\u0107 took the judiciary into his own hands and formed his own Summary Court. This so-called Summary Court, through its judgments UKP No. 1\/45 and UKP No. 2\/45, published in the final issue of the Ustasha newspaper “Novi list” on April 3, 1945, sentenced dozens of people to death. In the early morning of March 28, 1945, seven days before the liberation of the city, the Ustasha publicly hanged 56 people at Marindvor, and several others were found in Luburi\u0107’s villa who could not be identified due to the mutilation of their remains. The name of Mustafa Glavovi\u0107 was announced as number 13 on the notice\/announcement of the death sentence by firing squad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mustafa’s wife, Murta Glavovi\u0107, was a witness to the statement given by Fata Raljevi\u0107, the mother of the slain Ibrahim Raljevi\u0107<\/a>, to the “City Commission for the Investigation of War Crimes by the Occupiers and their Collaborators” on October 5, 1945, and she stated the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I was well acquainted with the Raljevi\u0107 family, and I know that the Ustasha took away her son Ibrahim on February 12 of this year (i.e. 1945). At that time, my husband Mustafa Glavovi\u0107 was also taken away. They were taken to Sarajevo, where they were later executed by the Ustasha under Maks Luburi\u0107.”<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

One of the greatest atrocities against the people of Mostar by the Ustasha occurred towards the end of the war. Despite retreating, the Ustasha arrested a number of activists and sympathizers from Mostar and took them to Sarajevo. Some were killed together with the citizens of Sarajevo, while others were taken to Jasenovac and executed there. From the biographies of the victims, it is evident that it was not always possible to determine who perished at which location. According to the above article, the victims had already been killed when the announcement was printed.<\/div>\r\n
