OMER BULJUBA\u0160I\u0106, son of MUJO, born on January 10, 1921, in Mostar, a carpenter, a member of the League of Communist Youth (SKOJ) since 1941, joined the Battalion in October 1941, a fighter, wounded during an unsuccessful attack on the Usta\u0161e station in Vrdolje near Konjic on January 22, 1942. He died at Sutjeska in 1943*.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Panto Sari\u0107, a sergeant, with one of his squads managed to infiltrate the first village houses, where the exchange of fire with the defenders began. The other fighters remained lying in the snow as the defenders put up fierce resistance, not sparing any ammunition. After a three-hour battle, our fighters began to withdraw under the cover of the mist. Protection for the withdrawal of the squad from the houses they had infiltrated was provided by Boro Radan<\/a>, Branko Ga\u0161i\u0107, and Bo\u017eo \u0160koro from a house where they disarmed two militiamen during the infiltration. In the end, they took the rifles of the disarmed militiamen and withdrew while engaging in combat. In the battle, PERO \u0106E\u0106EZ, a farmer from Donje Selo near Konjic, and VASO GA\u0160I\u0106<\/a>, a farmer from Ba\u0107evi\u0107i near Mostar, were killed. OMER BULJUBA\u0160I\u0106, ILIJA KULJANIN, MILAN SERDAREVI\u0106, and RADE SINIKOVI\u0106 were severely wounded. Serdarevi\u0107 and Buljuba\u0161i\u0107 were bandaged and taken to a village house. When Panto Sari\u0107, the sergeant, saw that the immobilized Serdarevi\u0107 and the wounded Buljuba\u0161i\u0107 had not withdrawn, he returned to the house where they were left. Panto helped Serdarevi\u0107 and started moving with Buljuba\u0161i\u0107, occasionally turning back and firing in the direction of the village. Being alone, Panto sent Buljuba\u0161i\u0107 to Blace to seek help to save Serdarevi\u0107, who was already suffering from frostbite. From all our nations and religions: Muslims, Croats, Serbs, Jews, Orthodox Christians, Catholics, Muslims, Jews, atheists, and semi-atheists. Some were from straight from Mostar and others from the surrounding locations, from Konjic and outside Konjic.\" (Hercegovina Magazine No. 7, p. 238)\r\n\r\nGroups of new fighters arrived from Mostar every 10-15 days, and the Unit quickly grew into a solid military force. The guides for the groups from Mostar were Mehmed Arap, Vasa Maslo, Serif Buri\u0107, Husa Orman, Vojo Ivani\u0161evi\u0107, and Pero Krajina, who were among the bravest and most resourceful fighters. The groups regularly brought not only weapons but also medical supplies, sugar for the hospital, writing materials, large quantities of paper, books taken from the National Library (which formed the library at Borci), and other supplies for the needs of the Unit.
