Barber, member of SKOJ (League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia) since 1941. He was part of a group of volunteer youth from Mostar during the April War but was sent back after five days due to the capitulation. He participated in a gathering of SKOJ activists and leaders from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the forest of Pr\u0161ljani near Bugojno in August 1940 as one of the 15 representatives from Mostar. He joined the Battalion at the beginning of 1942 and was a fighter. He was killed during a Chetnik uprising in Drami\u0161evo near Nevesinje in June 1942.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*According to the information from the book &#8220;Spomenica Mostara 1941-1945,&#8221; the year of birth is 1918.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EXCERPTS FROM LITERATURE:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About the April War: <em>&#8220;In the last truck, I see Fadil in a white coat, his comrades Ibrica Alikalfi\u0107, \u010ci\u010da Mili\u0107evi\u0107, Haldun Hrvi\u0107, Sulo Mehmedba\u0161i\u0107, Ante Zelenika, almost the entire lineup of the first team of &#8216;Vele\u017e.&#8217; I hear the song-oath of Mostar&#8217;s youth to the beloved city: &#8216;&#8230;We will not let our land<br>be trampled by fascists. &#8230;We would rather die than give away our land!&#8217; Unfortunately, they returned from the battlefield in Montenegro after five days. On June 4, 1942, the captured fighters were taken to the outskirts of the village, where they were shot and thrown into a lime pit, following N.G.<\/em>&#8216;<em>s<\/em> <em>orders. They were young men, mostly workers and students, all members of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia (KPJ) and the League of Communist Youth (SKOJ), namely: Ibro Duje Alikalfi\u0107, a worker from Mostar, fighter D\u017eafebegovi\u0107, <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"Muhamed Had\u017eiomerovi\u0107\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" href=\"https:\/\/partizansko.info\/en\/partizan\/muhamed-m-hadziomerovic\/\">Muhamed Had\u017eiomerovi\u0107<\/a>, a worker from Mostar, <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"Branko Kosjerina\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" href=\"https:\/\/partizansko.info\/en\/partizan\/branko-v-kosjerina\/\">Branko Kosjerina<\/a>, a civil servant from Mostar, <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"Omer Kljako\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" href=\"https:\/\/partizansko.info\/en\/partizan\/omer-b-kljako\/\">Omer Kljako<\/a>, a worker from Mostar, <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"Salem Skiki\u0107\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" href=\"https:\/\/partizansko.info\/en\/partizan\/salem-a-skikic\/\">Salem Skiki\u0107<\/a>, a worker from Mostar, Tomo Stipi\u0107, a worker from Mostar, <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"Hido \u0160ari\u0107\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" href=\"https:\/\/partizansko.info\/en\/partizan\/hidajet-h-saric\/\">Hido \u0160ari\u0107<\/a>, a student from Mostar, Alija \u0160ehovi\u0107, a worker from Mostar, and <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"Mustafa Kreso\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" href=\"https:\/\/partizansko.info\/en\/partizan\/mustafa-m-kreso\/\">Mustafa Kreso<\/a>, a worker from Mostar. In this way, they killed 19 fighters in Drami\u0161evo alone&#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the account of Enver \u0106emalovi\u0107:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;In the afternoon, around 4 o&#8217;clock, J.G. arrived in the village of Kru\u0161evljane. He told the story that in Drami\u0161evo and Zaborani, they had killed several communists and Montenegrins and disarmed 12 individuals from Mostar who were held in the basement of his house. He offered for the gendarmerie commander Ranko Ivan\u010devi\u0107 to send about ten men, take over the prisoners, and hand them over to the Italians in Nevesinje. Since the villagers rejected this proposal, Jovan returned to Drami\u0161evo. Upon J.G.&#8217;s return to the village, a Chetnik council was convened under the leadership of N.G., who decided to kill the disarmed fighters. Until the formation of the 13th Herzegovina Brigade in May 1944, 827 fighters passed through the Battalion, and 445 of them perished, including 211 from Mostar. Of the 86 women, 43 were killed. Mostar residents also fought in many other units of the NOVJ (People's Liberation Army of Yugoslavia) and among the ranks of the activists of the National Liberation War in Mostar and other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina... According to the records of the organization SUBNOR Mostar, every third citizen was an activist of the National Liberation War, 670 fighters were killed, 1517 were victims of fascist terror, and 206 were civilian war victims. Those of us who were 17, 18 years old, some seemed old even though they were not older than 25. The ones over 30 were rare. There were girls and boys with different characteristics and temperaments, robust and calm, talkative and silent, recklessly brave and rational, ordinary and above-average, semi-literate and university-educated, workers and highly skilled craftsmen, high school students and university students, skilled singers and those who couldn't carry a tune, jokers and serious-minded individuals. From all our nations and religions: Muslims, Croats, Serbs, Jews, Orthodox Christians, Catholics, Muslims, Jews, atheists, and semi-atheists. Some were from straight from Mostar and others from the surrounding locations, from Konjic and outside Konjic.\" (Hercegovina Magazine No. 7, p. 238)\r\n\r\nGroups of new fighters arrived from Mostar every 10-15 days, and the Unit quickly grew into a solid military force. The guides for the groups from Mostar were Mehmed Arap, Vasa Maslo, Serif Buri\u0107, Husa Orman, Vojo Ivani\u0161evi\u0107, and Pero Krajina, who were among the bravest and most resourceful fighters. The groups regularly brought not only weapons but also medical supplies, sugar for the hospital, writing materials, large quantities of paper, books taken from the National Library (which formed the library at Borci), and other supplies for the needs of the Unit.
