Arrested by the Usta\u0161e in Mostar in July 1941 and killed. His son Aleksandar Aco Alagi\u0107<\/a> was a fighter and died near Konjic in 1943.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The day before the April war, our group had a theoretical lesson led, as far as I remember, by Andrija Kre\u0161i\u0107. Director Marko Alagi\u0107 happened to be there as well. He listened to the discussion for a while, and then he said to us: ‘Dear children, it would be better for you to disperse as soon as possible because we do not know what tomorrow brings.’ And that’s what happened: the next day, the attack on Yugoslavia took place. The director was very beloved among us, and in the classes of business mathematics, he promoted competition in solving tasks. A total of 1,024 individuals were killed, with 649 in the city itself and 331 in surrounding villages. Besides direct killings \"at the doorstep,\" the most common fate was transportation and liquidation in Ustasha camps throughout the Independent State of Croatia. The highest number of casualties occurred in the complex of Ustasha camps in Gospi\u0107-Jadovno-Pag and in Jasenovac.
