PETAR AK\u0160AM, son of RISTO, born on December 2, 1907, in Mostar. Worked in several places before the war. Joined the People’s Liberation War (NOV i POJ) from Bosanska Kostajnica in 1941, in the insurgent units in the Krajina region. Member of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia (KPJ). Killed in early 1943 as the political commissar of the Kraji\u0161ka Brigade company in the village of Strigovi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a student of the teachers’ school in Mostar, he was very active in the “Aleksa \u0160anti\u0107” literary group. He worked as a teacher before the war in several places, from 1929 in Ratimlja near Stolac, then in Srpski Kalenderovci near Derventa and \u010citluk near Bosanska Kostajnica. Member of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia. Joined the resistance movement in 1941 in insurgent units in Krajina, becoming one of the first organizers of the uprising in that area. He died at the beginning of 1943 in the village of Strigovi as a political commissar of the Krajina Brigade (under the influence of high temperature, he killed himself with a revolver).
